Bangla Press Desk: Sri Lanka made light work of the target as they comprehensively outplayed Bangladesh at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium on Saturday, chasing down 140 in just 14.4 overs.
From the outset, the Lankans were in complete control. Boundaries came in almost every over, and Bangladesh never looked able to apply sustained pressure.
A crucial moment early in the chase was Kamil Mishara’s reprieve on 1, when Mahedi Hasan dropped a running catch at mid-on. Mishara capitalised immediately, punishing loose deliveries with a flurry of fours and a towering six, turning the momentum firmly in Sri Lanka’s favour.
Mishara remained unbeaten on 46, while Pathum Nissanka top-scored with 50 off 34 balls before being caught brilliantly by Shoriful Islam. This article was originally published on Daily Sun.
