Bangladesh Tigers Seal Historic Whitewash Over Pakistan at Home

Bangla Press Desk:  Bangladesh have created history by whitewashing Pakistan in a home Test series for the first time.

The side led by Najmul Hossain Shanto secured a 2-0 series victory after registering an impressive 78-run win in the Sylhet Test on Wednesday.

Chasing a massive target of 437 runs, Pakistan continued to fight on the final day, with a crucial partnership between Mohammad Rizwan and Sajid Khan creating concern for Bangladesh.

Pakistan added quick runs early on the final day to bring excitement back into the contest. Rizwan played a brilliant innings but fell heartbreakingly short of a century. He was dismissed for 94 after edging a delivery from Shoriful Islam to gully.

Earlier, Taijul Islam provided a breakthrough by removing the dangerous Sajid, who was caught at slip. The left-arm spinner emerged as the match hero with a five-wicket haul in the second innings.Pakistan were eventually bowled out for 359 in the 98th over when Khurram Shahzad was dismissed, sealing Bangladesh’s memorable victory.

The triumph also marked Bangladesh’s fourth consecutive Test win against Pakistan — the longest winning streak they have achieved against any opponent in Test cricket history.

With the bat, Mushfiqur Rahim and Litton Das made major contributions throughout the series. In bowling, Taijul, Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Shoriful consistently kept Pakistan under pressure.
