Bangladeshi umpires miss out on T20 World Cup semifinals
Bangla Press Desk: The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Tuesday released the list of umpires and match referees for the two semi-finals at the Men's T20 World Cup, but no Bangladeshi officials feature in the roster.
Sharfuddoula Ibne Shahid Saikat and Gazi Sohel have served as umpires during the ongoing tournament, but they will not officiate in the semi-finals.For Wednesday's clash between South Africa and New Zealand, on-field umpiring duties will be handled by Richard Illingworth and Alex Wharf, with Nitin Menon and Rod Tucker as the third and fourth umpires.
Javagal Srinath will serve as the match referee.
In the India-England semi-final on Thursday, Chris Gaffaney and Aleem Dar will be on-field umpires.
Adrian Holdstock and Paul Reiffel will take third and fourth umpiring roles, while Andy Pycroft will act as match referee.
The group stage and Super Eight phase of the T20 World Cup have concluded, and the battle now moves to the semi-finals.
The final on 8 March is yet to have its officials announced by the ICC.Source: daily Sun
