Bangla Press Desk: Bangladesh Emerging Team suffered a heavy seven-wicket defeat to South Africa Emerging Team in the opening one-day match at Groenkloof Oval on Saturday.
After losing the toss, the visitors endured a batting collapse, folding for just 89 in 30.2 overs. Opener Mahfijul Islam was the lone resistance with 40 runs, while skipper Zakir Hasan departed early. South African pacer Dayyaan Galiem starred with a brilliant five-wicket haul.
In reply, the hosts comfortably chased down the target, reaching 93-3 in 18.4 overs to take a lead in the series with a dominant all-round performance.
