BCB ends 16-year association with Real Impact
Bangla Press Desk: Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has decided to end its long-running partnership with Dubai-based Indian production company Real Impact, opting for a new provider for its home series coverage from 11 March, starting with the Pakistan series, sources confirmed Daily Sun.
Real Impact, which had been contracted to handle production for Bangladesh’s home series until 2027, oversaw five home series spanning 56 days. However, the board cited rising costs and outdated technology as key reasons for the change. Sources said the move is expected to save the BCB at least Tk10 crore.
Under the new arrangement, a different production company will manage broadcast operations, though the board has yet to announce the selected firm. Procedural steps have already been completed ahead of the three-match One Day International series against Pakistan.
Earlier, domestic firm Imago and Pakistan-based Trans Production Technologies handled production of the Bangladesh Premier League, earning praise for quality and helping the board save around Tk4.5 crore in expenses. The inclusion of local providers also allowed the board to limit government VAT to 15%, further reducing costs.
The BCB has said the name of the new production company will be announced soon.Source: daily Sun
