BKSP crowned champions of Aparajeyo Alo Women's Hockey Tournament
Bangla Press Desk: The Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protishtan (BKSP) emerged victorious in the BRAC Bank Aparajeyo Alo Women’s Hockey Tournament, claiming the championship with an emphatic 8-0 win over Zone-2, a team representing Dhaka and Mymensingh divisions, at the Maulana Hockey Stadium in Paltan on Thursday.
The tournament’s qualifying rounds were held across four venues nationwide, with the champions from each venue joining BKSP to form a five-team final round that began on 25 December in Dhaka. In the final stage, each team was composed of two divisions from a single zone.
In Thursday’s final, Zone-2 struggled to contain the BKSP side. BKSP dominated from the start, scoring three goals in the first quarter, adding two more in the second, and finishing strong with three goals across the last two quarters to secure a commanding victory.
Orpita of BKSP was the tournament’s top scorer, netting an impressive 22 goals, while her teammate Riya was named Player of the Tournament. The accolade for Best Goalkeeper went to Moa of Rajshahi, and the Rising Star award was presented to opurbo from Kishoreganj.
BKSP’s commanding performance underscores their status as a powerhouse in women’s hockey, leaving fans and competitors alike in awe of their skill and teamwork.
