Dhaka Bank Partners with PKSF Under Specialised Agreement
Bangla Press Desk: Dhaka Bank PLC has signed a Credit Guarantee Agreement with Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation (PKSF) under the Credit Enhancement Scheme (CES) to promote greater financial inclusion and expand access to finance for marginal, cottage, and micro enterprises across Bangladesh.
Under the scheme, participating banks and financial institutions (FIs) will be able to provide a total of Tk2,800 crore in guaranteed loans to PKSF's Partner Organisations (POs)/Microfinance Institutions (MFIs) during the 2026–27 fiscal year, according to a press release.PKSF will provide credit guarantee services to facilitate these financings, enabling the POs/MFIs to extend credit to micro entrepreneurs across the country.
The initiative is expected to strengthen financial inclusion by expanding access to formal finance for underserved entrepreneurs, particularly in rural areas.
The agreement was signed by PKSF Deputy Managing Director Md Hasan Khaled and Dhaka Bank Deputy Managing Director Md Mostaque Ahmed at PKSF Bhaban-1 on 20 July.
Md Fazlul Kader, managing director, PKSF; Md Mashiar Rahman, deputy managing director, PKSF; Akond Mohammad Rafiqul Islam, deputy managing director, PKSF; Mohammad Mahbubur Rahman Palash, head of MSME and Emerging Business Division, Dhaka Bank; and other senior officials from PKSF, Dhaka Bank, and 11 other participating banks/FIs attended the signing ceremony.
