Ebadot hails Amir’s experience as key for Sylhet Titans
Bangla Press Desk: Mohammad Amir’s vast experience will be a decisive weapon for Sylhet Titans in the upcoming Bangladesh Premier League, believes pacer Ebadot Hossain.
Speaking after a practice session in Sylhet, Ebadot said the arrival of the former Pakistan fast bowler has already lifted the side’s confidence ahead of the tournament.
“Amir has so much to offer, and we can learn a lot from him,” Ebadot said. “With more than 400 wickets in his career, he is a giant of the T20 format.”
He stressed that Amir’s presence would be invaluable both on and off the field.
“His experience will be a huge asset to our team, and we hope he gives his best for Sylhet,” Ebadot added.
Sylhet Titans signed Amir directly after franchisees were allowed to recruit two overseas players ahead of the auction.
The left-arm pacer joined the squad’s practice sessions only a few days before the start of the BPL.
Ebadot believes Amir will spearhead a formidable pace attack alongside Syed Khaled Ahmed, Shohidul Islam, Rejaur Rahman Raja and himself.
“With Amir Bhai, Khaled, Shohidul, Rejaur and myself, we have a strong fast-bowling unit,” he said confidently.
The Bangladesh seamer also highlighted the overall balance of the Sylhet squad.
“We have a solid team with a great mix of local and foreign players,” he said. “There’s a good balance between experienced seniors and energetic juniors.”
Ebadot rated the side’s strengths as evenly matched but gave a slight edge to the bowlers.
“I would say our batting and bowling are 50-50,” he said. “But honestly, our bowling attack is a bit stronger.”
With belief running high in the camp, Sylhet’s ambition is crystal clear.
“We are aiming to be champions,” Ebadot declared. “If everyone performs, we believe we can lift the trophy.”
He revealed the team’s mantra for the season as simple and bold — success.
“Hearing that motivates me,” he said. “I truly feel we can be champions this year, InshaAllah.”
