Expatriate Bangladeshi student's body recovered from Canadian river

Staff Reporter, USA: A body of an expatriate Bangladeshi student named Samiuzzaman Sami (24) has been recovered from a river in the Canadian province of Manitoba. Police recovered his body from the Red River in the capital, Winnipeg, on Wednesday. Winnipeg police sources said. Samiuzzaman's father's name was Mohammad Asadul Islam. His village home is in Kaliganj upazila of Jhenaidah district. Sami is the younger of the two brothers. Sami was a graduate student in computer science at the University of Manitoba. He also worked part-time as a data analyst at a company called Bison Transport in Manitoba. Sami used to rent an apartment near Red River with some Bangladeshi friends. According to Winnipeg police sources, he has been missing since 9 January. Samir's roommates and friends told the police that they did not find him. Seven days later, police recovered Samir's body from the river. His body is in police custody at the time of writing. Winnipeg police have not yet commented on the cause of death.
