Farashganj signs star women footballers ahead of WFL

Bangla Press Desk:   Farashganj SC made a strong statement on the final day of transfers on Friday by signing five national team stars ahead of the Women’s Football League (WFL). The club secured the services of Tahura Khatun, Maria Manda, Monika Chakma, Shamsunnahar Sr and Shamsunnahar Jr.

Farashganj also registered two foreign players — Nepali defender Pooja Rana and midfielder Sabita Rana Magar — while futsal goalkeeper Sejuti has joined the squad.

The team will be coached by Abu Faisal, with Kamal Ahmed Babu serving as advisor, and a 35-player squad has been finalised.

A total of 11 teams will compete in the WFL, with all matches scheduled to be held at Bir Sreshtho Shaheed Sipahi Mostafa Kamal Stadium. The league begins in two days.
