Foot pain when walking: what to do for relief
Bangla Press Desk: Staying physically fit requires regular walking. However, in the busy corporate world, it is often not possible to walk, even if one wishes to. Sometimes, due to a lack of the habit, walking can lead to foot pain.
For others, excess body fat may make walking difficult, and attempting to walk can cause pain. Additionally, wearing new shoes can also result in foot discomfort.
You can easily alleviate foot pain by following these simple remedies:
Soaking feet in warm, salted water
One of the oldest and most effective ways to reduce foot pain is to soak your feet in warm water. Simply add some salt to lukewarm water and soak your feet for 10 to 15 minutes. Salt works like magic to relieve muscle fatigue, providing quick relief from foot pain.
Applying an ice pack
If your feet become swollen after walking for a long time in stiff shoes, you can use an ice pack. Wrap a few ice cubes in a clean cotton cloth and apply it to the painful area for rapid relief. Remember, never apply ice directly to your skin.
Massaging with oil
Massaging your feet with oil is highly effective for reducing pain. Gently warm some mustard or coconut oil and massage it thoroughly into your feet and ankles. This improves blood circulation and helps alleviate muscle pain quickly.
When your feet feel exhausted from prolonged walking, they need some rest. While lying in bed, you can elevate your feet by placing one or two pillows underneath them. This helps normalize blood circulation in the feet and significantly reduces swelling.
