
Free health care provider Connecticut physician Sayedur Rahman passed away


Staff Reporter: Popular and well-known among Bangladeshi expatriates in Connecticut, Dr. Sayedur Rahman has passed away. He died on Wednesday evening (September 10) while undergoing treatment at a hospital (Indeed, to Allah we belong and to Him we shall return). He was 81 at the time of his death.
Dr. Sayedur Rahman was a resident of Bristol, Connecticut. He worked at Bristol Hospital, Hospital of Central Connecticut, and several other hospitals in the area.
Dr. Rahman was an internist with more than 55 years of medical experience. He graduated from Dhaka Medical College in 1968 and was also affiliated with Bristol Hospital and Waterbury Hospital. He earned his MBBS degree from Lahore Medical & Dental College.
The late Dr. Rahman had long provided free health care services through the Bangladeshi American Association of Connecticut (BAC). His passing has cast a shadow of grief among Bangladeshi expatriates in Connecticut.
He is survived by his sons, daughters, grandchildren, and many admirers. His funeral prayer (Janazah) will be held on Friday (September 12) after Juma prayer at Baitul Mamur Mosque in Manchester.
