Hridoy fires unbeaten 97 as Rangpur post 178
Bangla Press Desk: Towhid Hridoy’s unbeaten 97, studded with eight fours and six sixes, helped Rangpur Riders post a competitive 178 for 4 against Rajshahi Warriors on Sunday at the Sylhet International Stadium.
Asked to bat first in an important encounter, Rangpur decided to promote Hridoy to the top of the order alongside Kyle Mayers — a move that paid off immediately. The right-hander smashed 38 off 22 balls in the powerplay, helping Rangpur reach 54 for 1 after the first six overs.
Hridoy then played the anchor role through the middle overs, forming steady partnerships with Litton Das and Iftikhar Ahmed before upping the ante after bringing up his second fifty of the season off 39 balls. He went on to add 47 more runs in just 17 deliveries to finish unbeaten.
He was well supported by Khushdil Shah, who struck 44 off 29 balls, as the pair added 105 runs for the fifth wicket off just 51 balls to lift Rangpur to a strong total.
