Jason Holder becomes first West Indian to reach 100 T20I wickets
Bangla Press Desk: Caribbean all-rounder Jason Holder created history on Saturday by becoming the first West Indies bowler to claim 100 wickets in T20 Internationals.
Holder reached the landmark during the West Indies’ ICC Men’s T20 World Cup match against Scotland on Saturday, where he picked up three wickets to achieve the feat and lead the team to victory. The former West Indies captain needed 90 T20I matches to reach the milestone and now stands as the highest wicket-taker for his country in the shortest format.
Left-arm spinner Akeal Hosein is second on the West Indies all-time T20I wicket list with 86 scalps, trailing Holder by a considerable margin.
With his latest achievement, Holder now sits 35th on the overall T20I wicket-takers’ list, alongside renowned bowlers such as Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan, Bangladesh’s Shakib Al Hasan and Mustafizur Rahman.
