Know the 5 subtle signs of a heart attack

Bangla Press Desk:   According to the World Health Organization, four out of five deaths from heart disease are due to heart attacks. Although heart attacks usually occur suddenly, there are some warning signs that can increase the danger if ignored. Cardiologist Dr. Alok Chopra recently highlighted five important warning signs on his Instagram that should never be ignored.

According to Dr. Chopra, it is important to recognize small signs before major heart problems. Let's find out which signs he told us to understand.

1. Chest pain or pressure sensation: Usually starts from the center of the chest and can spread to the throat, jaw or arms. It is definitely not safe if it goes away from time to time. This can be a sign of angina.

2. Shortness of breath on slight exertion: You need to be careful if you suddenly have shortness of breath. This can indicate reduced blood flow to the heart.

3. Swelling or weight gain in the legs: Swelling of the legs can occur due to abnormal fluid accumulation in the body. This is an early sign of heart failure.

4. Unusual fatigue or loss of energy: Sudden extreme fatigue even during daily activities means that the heart is not delivering oxygen properly.

5. Dizziness, fainting or rapid heartbeat: These indicate a heart rhythm problem or reduced blood flow. Dr. Chopra calls it the “silent killer.”
Although a heart attack is sudden, these are early warning signs. If you experience any of these symptoms—chest pain, shortness of breath, swelling in your legs, excessive fatigue or dizziness—it is important to seek medical advice immediately. Regular health checkups and awareness help reduce the risk of heart disease.
