Bangla Press Desk: Bangladesh were denied victory in their opening AFC U-17 Women’s Asian Cup Qualifier after conceding a late goal to hosts Jordan in a 1–1 draw on Sunday.
Survi Akand Priti gave Bangladesh an early lead in the second minute, heading home after a deflected free kick from Mamoni Chakma.
Despite dominating possession and creating several chances, Arpita Biswas’s side couldn’t add to their tally. Jordan’s Mira Zarar equalised in the 89th minute to snatch a point. Bangladesh even found the net moments later, but the goal was ruled offside.
Bangladesh will play their second qualifier against Chinese Taipei on 17 October.
