Major blow for Barcelona due to Raphinha's injury.
Bangla Press Desk: Barcelona captain and Brazilian star Raphinha has been in scintillating form this season. However, he will sit out the next two matches as a precautionary measure after experiencing thigh discomfort, avoiding any major injury.
He was substituted at halftime during Brazil's friendly against Australia on September 29 after feeling discomfort in his right thigh.
Barcelona manager Hansi Flick confirmed that scans revealed no serious injury. However, due to minor fluid accumulation in the thigh muscle and his history of recurring hamstring issues last season, the club is unwilling to take any risks. The goal is to ensure the winger is 100% fit before returning to the squad for the crucial matches against PSG on October 20 and the *El Clásico* against Real Madrid on October 25.
Playing in a new center-forward role this season, Raphinha has been in exceptional form—arguably among the best across Europe's top leagues. He has recorded 14 goals and 3 assists in just 8 matches across all competitions, including consecutive hat-tricks in La Liga against Racing Santander and Sevilla.
In his absence, Gabriel Jesus—who recently arrived from Arsenal—is set to make his first start for Barcelona in the upcoming match against Getafe.
