Mustafizur set maximum base price, Shakib listed at Rs1 crore for IPL 2026 auction
Bangla Press Desk: The buildup to the IPL 2026 auction has gained significant momentum as Bangladesh stars Mustafizur Rahman and Shakib Al Hasan headline the overseas players’ list with notable base prices. The tournament authority released the long list of registered cricketers on Monday, marking a major step toward the high-profile event scheduled for 16 December in Abu Dhabi.
Left-arm pacer Mustafizur Rahman, celebrated globally for his deceptive cutters and death-overs mastery, has entered the auction with the maximum available base price, Rs2 crore. This places him among an elite group of 45 players who have opted for the top-tier price bracket. The list also includes prominent names such as Cameron Green, Liam Livingstone, Ravi Bishnoi, Venkatesh Iyer, Matheesha Pathirana, and Wanindu Hasaranga.
Veteran all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan, one of the most experienced overseas campaigners in IPL history, has set his base price at Rs1 crore. With 71 matches in nine seasons, Shakib remains a seasoned asset thanks to his dual ability to contribute with both bat and ball and his long-standing familiarity with IPL conditions.
