Mustafizur's availability in IPL uncertain as BCB NOC awaits
Bangla Press Desk: Availability concerns loom over Mustafizur Rahman after Kolkata Knight Riders bought him for a record 9.2 crore INR at the IPL auction, making him the highest-paid Bangladeshi in the league’s history. The amount equals around 12 crore taka. Kolkata outbid Delhi and Chennai to secure the left-arm pacer.
The issue arises as Bangladesh host Pakistan and New Zealand in April for key white-ball series ahead of 2027 World Cup qualifiers. In the past, the BCB has refused to issue a no-objection certificate in similar situations, adding uncertainty about his IPL participation.
Currently in the UAE for the IL T20, Mustafizur has impressed for Dubai Capitals with six wickets in four matches. His off cutters, seam scramble deliveries, and consistent rhythm have kept him in high demand.
