Noakhali Correspondent: A new committee for the 'Companiganj Welfare Society of Pennsylvania, USA, Inc.' has been announced for the 2027–2029 term. Ibrahim Khalil Chowdhury Rakib has been elected as President, and Sharafat Ullah Sohag has been elected as General Secretary.
On Tuesday (October 27), the election commission announced the names of the newly elected committee members at the organization’s office, located at 62 Richfield Road, Upper Darby, Pennsylvania.
Sakhawat Hossain Tipu has been named Senior Vice-President, and Md. Sahid Kamal Sabuj has been named Vice-President.
Other elected officials include: Nur Karim Rony (Assistant General Secretary), Nur Hossain Ershad (Organizing Secretary), Mohammad Yusuf Nabi (Treasurer), Shahab Uddin (Assistant Treasurer), Zahirul Alam Nayan (Publicity Secretary), Mohammed Arifur Rahman Tareq (Office Secretary), Mainur Rahman Johnny (Social Welfare Secretary), and Belal Hossain Ratan (Sports Secretary).
Additionally, Iqbal Chowdhury Ripon, Yusuf Nabi, Saleh Uddin, Ariful Haque Rony, and Nurul Afsar Rajib have been appointed as executive members.
The newly elected President, Ibrahim Khalil Chowdhury Rakib, is the son of Mahfuzul Haque Chowdhury—a veteran political figure and former Chairman of Mushapur Union in Companiganj. It is hoped that under his leadership, unity, harmony, and mutual cooperation among the people of Companiganj living abroad will be further strengthened. Furthermore, the expatriate community expects this new committee to play a significant role in expanding the organization's activities and promoting the welfare of those living abroad.
