New York expat Jewel Rana died in road accident before Eid
Minara Helen: One day before the Eid Jewel Runna a resident of New York died in a road accident. He was killed by a bus in New York on Thursday (April 20) around 5:30 pm local time. The accident happened at Queens Boulevard and Jackson Avenue. The deceased Jewel Rana (44) worked as a delivery man besides working in a shop. According to New York police, Rana died in an accident of his own fault. Rana was driving an electric scooter down Jackson Avenue in Long Island City to make a delivery. At that time, a school bus heading to Queens Boulevard hit his scooter at the intersection. Rana fell on the road. His scooter went under the wheels of the bus. Rana was taken to New York-Presbyterianwell Cornell Medical Center where doctors declared him dead. Those close to the incident have demanded an investigation. They have also taken the initiative to file a case. The former president of the United States "Munshiganj-Bikrampur" association. Shahadat Hossain said that Rana's house is in the Bangla Bazaar area of Munshiganj district headquarters. His father's name is Judge Mia. Rana came to the United States seven months ago, leaving his wife, two sons and daughters and parents and siblings in the country. It cost him 15 lakhs taka to come through a broker. Rana used to work as a mechanic in a mobile repair shop in Dhaka's Gulistan area. Md.
