Nigar, Mostary steer Bangladesh past Netherlands

Bangla Press Desk:  Bangladesh Women registered a confident 26-run victory over Netherlands Women in a Women’s T20 World Cup Qualifier warm-up match at the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground in Kirtipur.

After being sent in, Bangladesh stumbled early as both openers fell cheaply, leaving the innings in trouble.

Sobhana Mostary and skipper Nigar Sultana then took control, stitching together a decisive partnership to steady the innings.

Nigar led from the front with an unbeaten 75 off 51 balls, while Mostary compiled a composed 59 from 58 deliveries.

Their stand lifted Bangladesh to a competitive 151 for 3 in 20 overs.

In reply, the Netherlands failed to build momentum and were restricted to 125 for 7.

Sterre Kalis top-scored with 31 off 23 balls, while Phebe Molkenboer added 28 from 24.

Bangladesh’s bowlers impressed, with Rabeya Khan claiming three wickets and Ritu Moni taking two.
