Staff Reporter: New York expatriate of Gaibandha resident, USA has expressed deep grief over the death of Mahmudul Gani Rejan, a journalist and cultural organizer of Gaibandha, a student leader of the anti-authoritarian movement of the nineties. In separate condolence messages, they conveyed their condolences to the bereaved family and wished peace to the soul of the deceased.
Gani Rejan, 52, the third son of the late Shuja-ud-Daula Badshah Miah of Madhyapara in Gaibandha town, died of a heart attack on Tuesday (April 27) morning. He was buried in the municipal graveyard on the same day after Asr prayers at Gaibandha Islamia High School ground. Earlier in the day, his body was laid to rest at the CPB district office and Udichi office.
Regan Udichi Shilpi Gosthi was associated with various socio-cultural organizations including General Secretary of Gaibandha District Branch, District Representative of Daily Sangbad, Member of Gaibandha Theater, Member Secretary of Ekta Pathak Forum Gaibandha, Member of Communist Party (CPB) District Secretariat.
Mahmudul Gani Regan was born on 18 January 1968 in the village of Baripara in Ghagoa Union of Gaibandha Sadar. Rejan had been living with his school teacher wife Shapla at his home in Madhyapara in the district town for a long time.
