OLSC Bangladesh Forms 30-Member Squad for Football Events

Bangla Press Desk:  The Official Liverpool FC Supporters Club Bangladesh (OLSC Bangladesh) held trials and selected a new 30-member squad, split into a main team and a reserve team of 15 players each, that will represent the fan group in corporate leagues, underground futsal tournaments, and friendlies against other fan clubs.

The squad was picked following open trials at North South University's Open Play Ground on Friday, where 70 of the 101 hopefuls, who registered turned out to compete for a place. The trials were sponsored by 60+ Energy Drink by Arabica Coffee and Jersey Freak BD.Former Bangladesh international Zahid Hasan Ameli oversaw the session as judge. He said he came away impressed by the overall standard, singling out several individual performances as outstanding, and has since proposed a friendly between a selection of the trialists and his own Under-17 academy side, an invitation he has formally extended to OLSC Bangladesh president Adit Muktadir.

The squad will train together twice a month, with additional trials to be scheduled as needed to cover any players who move on.

Beyond the new squad, OLSC Bangladesh continues to run Clash of the Kopites (COTK), its flagship annual football tournament. The eighth edition is scheduled for January 2027, following the last instalment in January 2026, with the tournament first held in 2013.

OLSC Bangladesh will also host a matchday screening on 29 August for Liverpool's second Premier League fixture of the season, at Anfield against Nottingham Forest. The event takes place at Sunset Beans Restaurant in Mirpur 12, with entry priced at Tk400, and will include a quiz, giveaways, and other activities for fans watching together.

Founded in 2011, OLSC Bangladesh has long led the way for Liverpool supporters in the country. In 2013, it became the first fan community in Bangladesh to receive official recognition from a European club.

The group's Facebook page has close to 38,000 followers, alongside its dedicated community group, All Reds Bangladesh, home to 1,800 vetted, loyal Liverpool supporters. An earlier version of that group had grown to nearly 5,000 members before it was wiped out by a Facebook glitch in 2021.

The trials came just days before Liverpool opened their Premier League campaign away at Newcastle United on 23 August. Liverpool remain English football's most decorated club, with a record-equalling 20 league titles and six European Cups, more than any other English side.
