Petrol pumps across Bangladesh 'may shut anytime'
Bangla Press Desk: The Bangladesh Petrol Pump Owners’ Association has warned that filling stations across the country may shut down at any time due to a fuel shortage.
In a statement issued on Sunday night, the association said the situation at filling stations nationwide is extremely dire. According to a post on its official Facebook page, the amount of fuel currently being supplied daily by oil companies is insufficient to meet customer demand. The statement noted that millions of motorcycle users across the country are being forced to wait for hours to purchase fuel, leaving them exhausted, frustrated, and increasingly agitated. At the same time, station workers, particularly nozzle operators, are struggling to manage the situation and are often facing arguments and conflicts with dissatisfied customers.
The post further said that workers are not accustomed to such continuous and intense duty. Overall, the situation has reached a critical point, and filling stations across the country may be forced to shut down at any moment due to security concerns and the lack of adequate fuel supply.Source: daily Sun
