Rajshahi District Team penalised for referee abuse
Bangla Press Desk:  The Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) has handed heavy sanctions to the Rajshahi District Football Team following referee abuse during their National Football Championship match against Bogura on 10 September. The BFF Disciplinary Committee, led by Mesbah Uddin, fined the Rajshahi District Football Association Tk 20,000 and suspended five players — Golam Rabbi, Jomjom, Jony, Rony and another — for four matches each. Team manager Roton, coach Mahmud Alam and assistant coach Alam have also been banned for six matches from all BFF-organised competitions. The incident took place at the Muktijuddho Smriti Stadium in Rajshahi, where players, officials and spectators were reported to have humiliated match officials.
BFF member Shakhawat Hossain Bhuiya Shahin said the federation was monitoring referee safety and standards, and that further actions would be taken based on official reports. This article was originally published on Daily Sun.
