Abu Hasim’s sensational spell of 4 for 7 threatened to snatch victory for Rangpur, but Rajshahi held their nerve to seal the chase.
Batting first, Rangpur stuttered early before Iqbal Hosen’s steady 50 off 45 balls provided stability. Skipper Akbar Ali (28 off 20) and Naeem Islam (20 off 15) added valuable runs, but they were dismissed for 143. Sabbir Hossain led Rajshahi’s bowling with 3 for 23.
Rajshahi’s reply began in chaos, collapsing to 29 for 5 inside the powerplay. Hasim ripped through the top order with three wickets in the sixth over, narrowly missing a hat-trick when his attempt went wide.
From there, Sabbir Rahman (35 off 35) and Shakhir steadied the innings with a crucial 74-run stand. After Sabbir’s departure, Shakhir (52* off 42) and Nihaduzzaman (27* off 14) guided Rajshahi to a memorable win.
