Staff Reporter: A rally has been held in New York to protest communal riots. The rally was organized by the leaders and activists of Chhatra League and Awami League calling on all the progressive parties and people of Bangladesh to unite to stop the communal terrorism.
At a rally at Diversity Plaza in Jackson Heights, New York, on Tuesday (October 20), Sheikh Hasina slammed the government for creating a communal riot in the country by placing the Koran Sharif in an infamous Durga Puja temple during the recent autumn Durga Puja.
Dr. Pradeep Ranjan Kar, Eng. Mohammad Ali Siddiqui, M A Karim Jahangir, Md. Fazlur Rahman, Professor Hossain Ara, Ramesh Chandra Nath, Shawkat Akbar Richi, Manzur Chowdhury, Jalal Uddin Jalil, Sadekul Badruzzaman Panna, Khandokar Zahidul Islam, Shahidul Islam, Poet Salehar Islam, Nurunnahar Alam, Adv. Shah Md. Bakhtiyar Ali, Rumana Akhtar and child Adian Chowdhury spoke at the rally.
