Remittance inflow rises over 31% in November
Bangla Press Desk: The country’s inbound remittances hit $2.88 billion last month, a huge 31.3% jump from the same month last year, according to data released by the Bangladesh Bank.
The figure is also 13% higher compared with previous month’s inflow.
November registered the second-highest remittance inflow so far this year. March recorded the highest at $3.29 billion.
The country’s remittance trajectory has remained in an upward trend owing to the political upheaval in last year's anti-fascist uprising, and subsequent policy overhaul.
In October, the inflow grew 7% year-on-year. In the four months since July the inflow grew nearly 14% year-on-year to hit $10.14 billion. In the five months since July, the annual growth was even bigger at 17% to $13.03 billion.
