Staff Reporter: As in previous years, the 19th anniversary and cultural evening of Sangeet Academy in the U.S state of Connecticut will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at the Center Congregational Church in Manchester.
A captivating cultural program featuring performances by Bangladeshi-origin students of Sangeet Academy, who have grown up in the diaspora, has been arranged for the occasion.
The event will include discussions, poetry recitations, and mesmerizing performances by the academy's students as well as guest artists.
For the past 18 years, Connecticut's Sangeet Academy has been organizing various cultural programs, including Bengali community festivals and other events celebrating Bangla heritage and culture. Through dedication and hard work, the academy has been successfully teaching Bangla language and music to children and teenagers growing up in the diaspora.

All students of Sangeet Academy are Bangladeshi-origin boys and girls raised in the United States. While many of them often respond in English when spoken to in Bangla, the academy has played a significant role in helping them learn both the Bangla language and Bangla songs with remarkable proficiency. Parents have expressed great satisfaction after hearing their children sing and speak in Bangla.
Sangeet Academy Director and singer Kousholy Ema emphasized the importance of preserving the institution in order to keep younger generations connected to Bangla culture. She called upon all members of the Bangladeshi diaspora to support the academy and invited parents and community members to attend the anniversary celebration and cultural evening on August 1.
