SBG, Rangpur Riders stand beside cold-hit people in Gaibandha
Bangla Press Desk: In the bone-chilling cold, the northern parts of Bangladesh have been left shivering. The biting northern winds have disrupted the daily lives of people, with the poorest facing the greatest hardship. Without warm clothing, many are forced to spend nights sleepless.

In this time of distress, Safwan Bashundhara Global (SBG) and Rangpur Riders have come forward with their humanitarian efforts, distributing blankets to nearly 4,000 cold-hit people in Gaibandha.

Rangpur Riders Head of Operations Tasvir Ul Islam distributed the blankets at the field of Shaheb Ali High School in Sadar upazila on Wednesday.

Sports personality Mahfil Hossain, retired teacher Amjad Hossain, Prof Azizul Islam, and Boali Union Parishad Chairman Shahidul Islam Sabu were also present, among others.

On the spot, it was seen that despite the intense midday cold, hundreds of people gathered in the hope of receiving a blanket. Receiving the blankets, many wore expressions of relief and gratitude.

An elderly woman, overwhelmed with emotion, said, “Due to poverty, I cannot eat twice a day properly. How could I buy warm clothes? I was suffering through the nights in this cold. I asked a few people for a blanket, but no one gave me one. Today, receiving this blanket has freed me from worry.”

During the distribution, Tasvir Ul Islam said, “Bashundhara Group always works for humanitarian causes and the welfare of the country and its people. Like every year, this time too, we have stood by to ease the suffering of those affected by the cold.”

Local dignitaries praised Bashundhara Group for this initiative, urging the country’s leading business conglomerate to continue such humanitarian efforts.
The cold-hit people offered special prayers, wishing long life and well-being for the Chairman of Bashundhara Group and all involved.
