Sheikh Kamal`s birthday celebrated at BD Embassy in Washington DC

Staff Reporter: The Bangladesh Embassy in Washington DC has celebrated 72nd birth anniversary of Captain Sheikh Kamal, the eldest son of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. On the occasion of the day, the embassy organized a function at Bangabandhu Auditorium last Thursday (August 5). Minister (Consular) Habibur Rahman read out a brief biography of Shaheed Captain Shiekh Kamal. The Bangladesh Ambassador M. Shahidul Islam, in his remarks, highlighted the qualities of Shaheed Sheikh Kamal and his constant efforts of self-development to prepare himself with education and organizational and leadership skills and encouraged all to learn from the life and works of the valiant hero. He asked the officials to avail themselves of higher education opportunities and equip themselves to serve the nation better. A documentary made on Shaheed Sheikh Kamal was screened before the guests. A special prayer was offered, seeking divine blessing for the souls of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Bangamata Fazilatun Nessa Mujib, Shaheed Captain Sheikh Kamal, and others martyred on 15 August 1975.
