Tector leads Ireland to 181/4 with unbeaten half-century
Bangla Press Desk: Ireland posted a competitive 181 for 4 in the first T20I after being sent in, built around a composed and commanding unbeaten half-century from Harry Tector at the Bir Sreshtho Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium in Chattogram on Thursday.
The visitors made a bright start as captain Paul Stirling struck 21 off 18 balls before falling at 40 for 1 in the fifth over. Tim Tector kept the momentum going with a brisk 32 from 19 deliveries, hitting six boundaries before he was removed at 71 for 2.
Harry Tector then anchored the innings superbly, finishing unbeaten on 69 from 45 balls with one four and five sixes. He received steady support from Lorcan Tucker, who made 18, and Curtis Campher, who contributed 24 off 17. George Dockrell added a lively 12 not out to close the innings.
Bangladesh’s bowlers toiled, with Tanzim Hasan Sakib claiming 2 for 41 and Shoriful Islam and Rishad Hossain picking up a wicket each. Mustafizur Rahman was the most economical, conceding just 23 runs.
