The condition set by the BCB for Jahanara to return to the national team

Bangla Press Desk: Former Bangladesh captain Jahanara Alam has not yet retired from international cricket and has expressed her desire to return to the national team. However, having been away from the international stage for a long time, she will need to pass a fitness test and demonstrate her performance in domestic cricket to earn a spot back in the national side.
It has been nearly two years since Jahanara last played for the Bangladesh national team. She stepped away from the squad, citing concerns for her mental well-being, and subsequently moved to Australia, where she continued to play club cricket.
Last December, Jahanara publicly disclosed that she had been subjected to mental and sexual harassment. Now, the former captain has conveyed her interest in returning to the national team to the new board.
Regarding this, Rafiqul Islam Babu, chairman of the Bangladesh Cricket Board’s (BCB) women’s wing, told *Dhaka Post*, "She expressed her desire to return some time ago and informed the board. She wants to play for the country again. To do so, she must follow the standard procedures: she needs to play in domestic cricket, pass a fitness test, and then deliver consistent performances. The rest is up to the selectors."
Sajjad Ahmed, a selector for the women’s team, also expressed a positive outlook on the possibility of Jahanara’s return.
He stated, "We would welcome her back if she wishes to return. Since she hasn't played an international match in a long time, she will have to undergo a fitness test and perform well in domestic cricket. We will assess her current skill level; if she performs well, she will certainly be considered."
The BCB will also make a decision regarding Jahanara’s participation in upcoming domestic cricket. On this, Sajjad Ahmed added, "There are domestic matches coming up, and the teams are already set. The BCB will determine which team she might join—but first, she has to make her return."
