Tigers Earn PM Praise After Maiden Home Test Series Win Against Pakistan
Bangla Press Desk: Bangladesh etched their name into the history books on Wednesday with a landmark first-ever home Test series triumph over Pakistan, prompting congratulations from Prime Minister Tarique Rahman after the Tigers completed a commanding 2-0 whitewash.
Nazmul Hossain Shanto’s side sealed a 78-run victory in the second Test in Sylhet after winning the maiden Test in Mirpur by 104 runs.
The back-to-back victories handed Bangladesh a historic whitewash over Pakistan in a Test series on home soil, marking one of the country’s most significant achievements in red-ball cricket.
The triumph also boosted Bangladesh’s standing in the ICC World Test Championship table. With 58.33 percent points, Bangladesh climbed to fifth place, while India slipped to sixth with 48.15 percent.
In a congratulatory message, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman praised the national team for their outstanding performance and expressed hope that Bangladesh’s success in international cricket would continue.He said the achievement would further inspire the younger generation to engage in sports and build confidence in the country’s sporting future.
The Prime Minister also expressed optimism that the Bangladesh team would achieve greater success on the world stage by maintaining unity, discipline and self-belief.
He extended heartfelt congratulations and thanks to the players, coaching staff and everyone involved with the team.
