Tk2,217 Increase Pushes Gold Prices Higher Across Bangladesh
Bangla Press Desk: Gold price in Bangladesh has increased again after falling in the previous two revisions, with the price of 22-carat gold rising by Tk2,217 per bhori.
According to a statement issued by the Bangladesh Jewellers' Association (BAJUS) on Friday morning, the new prices have been fixed following an increase in the price of pure gold (acid gold) in the local market.
As per today's gold price update, one bhori (11.664 grams) of 22-carat gold will cost Tk224,182, including VAT.
The price of 21-carat gold has been set at Tk214,092 per bhori, while 18-carat gold will be sold at Tk183,882 per bhori. Gold produced under the traditional method has been priced at Tk150,232 per bhori, including VAT.
BAJUS said the latest adjustment was made after reviewing the overall market situation in light of the increase in the price of pure gold.
The latest revision comes a day after the association reduced the price of 22-carat gold by Tk3,325 per bhori to Tk221,965, including VAT. At that time, the prices of 21-carat, 18-carat and traditional gold were fixed at Tk211,923, Tk182,075 and Tk148,774 per bhori, respectively.With the latest revision, gold prices in Bangladesh have been adjusted 89 times so far this year. Of these, prices have been increased 44 times and reduced 44 times, while one revision was made to adjust VAT.
