Urgent government directive for all offices in the country
Bangla Press Desk: The government has issued a directive to hoist the national flag on all government, semi-government, and autonomous institutions, as well as private buildings, across the country on November 7, in observance of ‘National Revolution and Solidarity Day.’ Furthermore, the national flag is also to be hoisted at Bangladesh embassies located abroad.
The Cabinet Division issued a notification regarding this on Sunday (November 1).
The notification states that the national flag of Bangladesh must be hoisted on all government, semi-government, and autonomous institutions, as well as private buildings, on November 7 to mark ‘National Revolution and Solidarity Day.’ The same directive applies to Bangladesh embassies abroad.
Previously, during a Cabinet meeting held on October 5, it was decided that November 7 would be observed as ‘National Revolution and Solidarity Day.’ Additionally, the day was categorized as a ‘Class A’ event within the circular governing the observance of national and international days.
Following this Cabinet decision, the Ministry of Public Administration declared November 7 a public holiday. A notification signed by Deputy Secretary Waliul Hasan states that the government has declared this public holiday in accordance with the ‘Allocation of Business Among the Different Ministries and Divisions’ (Schedule I of the Rules of Business, 1996).
Henceforth, November 7 will be observed annually as ‘National Revolution and Solidarity Day.’
