Victory procession by the newly formed Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal committee in Noakhali
Noakhali Correspondent: Following the approval of the newly formed committees for the Sonaimuri Upazila and Municipality units of the Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD), the organization's leaders and activists held a celebratory procession and rally. During the event, the leaders pledged to invigorate organizational activities, foster unity and strength within the organization, and play an active role on the streets to secure the rights of students.
On Sunday afternoon (November 1), the celebratory procession—organized by the Upazila and Municipality units of the Chhatra Dal—set off from the grounds of Sonaimuri Government College. The procession traversed several roads before concluding at the Sonaimuri bypass square, where a brief rally was held.
Speakers at the rally included Nazim Uddin Rony, Senior Joint General Secretary of the Noakhali District Chhatra Dal; Imam Hossain Rocky, Convener of the newly formed Sonaimuri Upazila Chhatra Dal committee; Senior Joint Convener Ibrahim Babu; Member Secretary Nur Hossain Sabuj; and Ali Hossain, Member Secretary of the newly formed Municipality Chhatra Dal committee.
The speakers stated that the new committees would inject fresh momentum into the Chhatra Dal’s organizational activities in Sonaimuri. They emphasized the need to strengthen the organization at the grassroots level while standing in solidarity with the general student body. They urged members to work in unity—adhering to party ideology and discipline—and to take a leading role in establishing the legitimate rights of students.
Furthermore, the speakers called upon the student community to remain united against the terrorism, occupation, and past misdeeds of the Chhatra League. They urged activists to remain vigilant to ensure that no malevolent forces could disrupt the normal academic environment of educational institutions.
The speakers also expressed their gratitude to the Chhatra Dal’s Central General Secretary, Nasir Uddin Nasir, as well as the District Chhatra Dal’s President and General Secretary, for recognizing and including dedicated activists—who remained steadfast during the party’s difficult times—in the newly formed committees.
To participate in the celebratory procession, activists from various unions across the Upazila and wards within the municipality began gathering at the Sonaimuri Government College grounds from the afternoon, arriving in smaller, localized processions. Later, a procession took place in a festive atmosphere, with the participation of over a thousand party members and activists.
