According to a report by the football news outlet Goal.com, the forward has ended his relationship with his girlfriend, Virginia Fonseca.
Although the team secured a 1-0 victory over Villarreal in La Liga, the match was far from pleasant for Vinicius. Coach Jose Mourinho had left him out of the starting lineup due to a recent dip in form. Even though he came on as a substitute after the break, he became agitated following the disallowance of a goal. Consequently, he was shown a red card and had to leave the pitch in the 73rd minute.
Due to the red card, the Brazilian star will miss the highly anticipated El Clásico match later this month. Amidst this on-field disappointment, he has now faced a major setback in his personal life as well.
After news of the breakup between Vinicius and Virginia circulated on social media, Virginia's press office confirmed the matter. A statement revealed that there was no conflict or argument between the two; they decided to separate based on mutual understanding.
This marks the second time the couple has parted ways in 2026. News of their relationship ending had previously surfaced in May of the same year, though they were seen together again in June. Subsequently, in September, they sparked fresh speculation among fans by showing off an engagement ring.
However, rumors regarding their relationship had been circulating even before the official announcement. According to Brazilian media reports, speculation about a split intensified when Virginia visited Miami without Vinicius. At the time, her representatives had stated that the trip was organized solely to allow their children to spend time with their father, Zé Felipe.
