What causes hands and feet to always be cold?

Bangla Press Desk:   Although cold hands and feet are common in winter, sometimes it can also be a sign of a physical problem. Usually, the body reduces blood flow to the hands and feet to keep important organs such as the brain and heart warm. This is normal and temporary. However, you should be careful if your hands and feet are cold even after the warmth of the room or wearing socks and blankets.

Some common reasons for always having cold hands and feet are:

Raynaud's phenomenon: Blood vessels in the hands and feet narrow due to cold or emotional stress.

Circulatory problems and arterial disease: Blood flow decreases in narrowing of the arteries or peripheral artery disease.

Hypothyroidism: When the thyroid is underactive, the body produces less heat.

Anemia and nutritional deficiencies: Cold hands and feet and weakness occur if there is a lack of iron or vitamin B-12.

Diabetes: If you have diabetes for a long time, nerves and blood vessels are damaged.

Stress and anxiety: Blood vessels narrow due to stress.
Things to do to keep your hands and feet warm:

Cover your hands and feet well
Walk or exercise regularly
Avoid smoking
Control stress
Eat nutritious food
Seek medical advice if necessary
You should see a doctor when:

The color of your hands and feet changes
There is numbness or pain
Wounds do not heal easily
Excessive fatigue or unusual weight changes
Not just a natural reaction to winter, constantly cold hands and feet can sometimes be an early sign of problems like Rheumatoid arthritis, anemia, thyroid or diabetes. Therefore, it is important to understand the body's signals, take proper care and seek medical advice if necessary.
