Bangla Press Desk: Bangladesh women’s team head coach Sarwar Imran suffered a minor stroke in Sri Lanka but has been discharged from hospital and rejoined the squad ahead of their Women’s World Cup opener, team officials said Tuesday.
Team manager SM Golam Faiyaz told that Imran felt sudden numbness in his left leg on Monday and was immediately taken to hospital with the help of the team doctor.
“An MRI confirmed a minor stroke,” Faiyaz said. “He was admitted to hospital yesterday but doctors released him today. He is with the team now and there is no immediate cause for concern. We request everyone to pray for him.”
Imran, who was appointed head coach of the Bangladesh women’s team in February, guided them through the qualifying rounds earlier this year to book a second consecutive appearance at the Women’s ODI World Cup, which is being co-hosted by Sri Lanka and India.
