10 platoons of BGB deployed on the Dhaka-Tangail highway
Bangla Press Desk: Ten platoons of the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), along with additional police personnel, have been deployed on the Dhaka-Tangail highway. They were seen patrolling the highway on Monday (November 2).
Meanwhile, since this morning, garment factory workers have been blocking the highway at the entry point to Dhaka, demanding a wage increase. This has caused severe traffic congestion, leading to immense hardship for commuters.
To bring the situation under control and maintain law and order, 10 platoons of the BGB and additional police forces have been deployed at the scene.
The workers have declared that they will continue their protest until their demands are met.
Separately, the administration is engaged in discussions with the protesting workers in an effort to calm the situation and restore normal traffic flow on the highway.
