5-member probe committee formed to assess losses from HSIA fire
The committee has been tasked with determining the overall extent of the damage and submitting a report to the government as soon as possible
Bangla Press Desk: The Internal Resources Division (IRD) of the Ministry of Finance has formed a five-member committee to assess the losses caused by the fire at the Cargo Village of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA).
The committee has been tasked with determining the overall extent of the damage and submitting a report to the government as soon as possible, according to a press release issued on Saturday night by Md Al Amin, Public Relations Officer of the National Board of Revenue (NBR).
Meanwhile, the NBR has taken special measures to ensure that import and export operations at the Dhaka Customs House continue without interruption.
Mohammad Mahbubur Rahman Patwary, joint secretary of the Internal Resources Division, will head the committee and Pankaj Barua, deputy secretary of the same division, will serve as the member secretary.
Other members of the committee include Md Roich Uddin Khan, first secretary of the NBR; Md Tarek Hasan, first secretary of the NBR; and Muhammad Kamrul Hasan, joint commissioner of Dhaka Customs House. This article was originally published on the Daily Sun.
