  Bangla Press Desk: Another 52 senior police officers have been transferred and posted by the government to improve the law and order situation throughout the country. The Ministry of Home Affairs’ Public Security Division issued three separate circulars in this regard on Monday. According to the notifications, officers, including additional inspectors general (Addl IGs), deputy inspectors general (DIGs), additional DIGs, and superintendents of police (SPs), have been transferred. Of them, 12 are Addl IGs. Nine of them have been confirmed in their present posts as they have been maintaining their current duties in the posts for a long time. The other three Addl IGs have been transferred to separate units.
Addl IG AKM Awlad Hossain, who has been maintaining his current duty as the chief of Telecom unit, has been shifted to Police Headquarters, while Commissioner of Sylhet Metropolitan Police (SMP) Rezaul Karim has been transferred to the Anti-Terrorism Unit (ATU) as its head. Director of Central Police Hospital Sardar Nurul Amin has been transferred to Police Headquarters as its Addl IG. Of the DIGs, six have been promoted to regular DIGs from supernumerary positions. Of the SPs, seven are the district SPs. They have been replaced by new faces. The districts are Barguna, Bagerhat, Narsingdi, Narayanganj, Meherpur, Narail, and Natore. SP of Barguna Ibrahim Khalil has been transferred to Police Headquarters as assistant inspector general (AIG), while Al Mamun of Industrial Police has been appointed as the SP of Barguna.
SP of PBI Mohammad Asaduzzaman has been made the SP of Bagerhat, while SP of Bagerhat Tawhidul Arif shifted to CID. SP of Narsingdi Abdul Hannan has been transferred to Barishal Metropolitan Police, AIG of Police Headquarters Menhazul Alam to Narsingdi as its SP, Narayanganj SP Prattush Kumar to CID, DMP DC Jasim Uddin to Narayanganj as its SP, Meherpur SP Maksuda Akhter Khanam to the home ministry and DMP DC Manjur Alam to Meherpur as SP.
