633 sacks of rice looted after tying up rice mill guard
Dhaka Correspondent: A brutal robbery incident has been reported at a rice mill in Dhaka's Dhamrai municipality. Armed with local weapons, organized robbers robbed 633 sacks of rice after tying the hands, feet and faces of the mill's night watchmen and mill workers.
Police and mill authorities said that a group of 8-10 robbers climbed the wall of the Bismillah Auto Rice Mill in the upazila late on Sunday night. The robbers first took the security guard and 4 mill workers hostage at the point of sharp weapons, tied their hands and feet and locked them in a room. Then they drove a truck inside the mill and looted 633 sacks of rice.
The victim mill owner said that the night watchmen called them in the morning and told them that the robbers had taken the rice at night.
Dhamrai Police Station OC Nazmul Huda Khan said that after receiving the information, the police visited the scene. Investigation is underway. Preparations are underway to file a case in this incident.
