Ahsan Habib Palash takes charge as RAB DG
Bangla Press Desk: Md Ahsan Habib Palash has assumed office as the 12th Director General (DG) of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), holding the rank of Additional Inspector General of Police. He officially took over the position on Saturday.
Ahsan Habib Palash joined the Bangladesh Police in 1995 as an Assistant Superintendent of Police through the 15th BCS batch. He completed a one-year foundational training programme at the Bangladesh Police Academy.Over his long career, he has served in several key units of the Bangladesh Police, including 4 APBN, Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP), and Sylhet Metropolitan Police (SMP), as well as in Rangamati, Shariatpur, and Narayanganj districts.
He has also worked at the Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) headquarters, handling administrative and investigative responsibilities.
He was later promoted and served as the DIG of Chattogram Range. In addition, he participated in UN peacekeeping missions in Kosovo, Liberia, Sudan, and South Sudan.
In recognition of his professional contributions, he was awarded the Bangladesh Police Medal (BPM – Service).
Educationally, Ahsan Habib Palash holds a BSS (Honours) and an MSc from Dhaka University. He has also completed specialized training programs in the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, Vietnam, and Malaysia.
