Al-Amin joins Thakurgaon TTC as acting principal
Bangla Press Desk : Md Al-Amin, a senior instructor (Garments Trade) of Thakurgaon Technical Training Centre under the Ministry of Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment, has joined the same institution as its new acting principal.
Al-Amin, a well-known and popular figure among students in Thakurgaon, is the first person to assume the post in his home district after serving with dedication as an instructor for 18 years.His appointment has generated enthusiasm among teachers and students, who expressed hope that he would work sincerely to eliminate irregularities and corruption and play a leading role in the overall development of the institution.
A resident of Purba Araji Chandipur village under Goreya Union in Thakurgaon Sadar upazila and the fourth son of the late Siraj Uddin, Al-Amin passed his SSC examination from Thakurgaon Government Boys’ High School in 1997, securing first position. He later enrolled at Dinajpur Textile Engineering Institute and completed his diploma in 2001 with first division.
In 2007, he completed a BSc in Fashion Design and Technology from a UGC-approved private university in Dhaka. After working in different private companies for a short period, he joined Thakurgaon TTC as senior instructor (Garments Trade) on 25 September 2007.
Despite facing different challenges over the years, he continued to serve the institution with dedication. Following the 13th national parliamentary election, he was appointed acting principal of the centre. He expressed gratitude to the authorities concerned for entrusting him with the responsibility.
Al-Amin said, “Technical training is a key component in creating employment opportunities in the labour market and in developing both personal and professional skills. It plays a significant role in reducing unemployment and supporting human resource development in the country.”
He expressed his commitment to introducing more market-oriented courses at the centre to enhance its impact on local and overseas job markets.
Noting that only nine trades have long been operated at the centre, he said he plans to introduce Japanese and Korean language courses, food-related training, ICT caregiver, civil construction, ICT plumbing, welding trade, CC projects and dormitory facilities.
He also expressed his intention to recruit necessary manpower and develop the centre into a model training institute. In this regard, he sought cooperation from the authorities concerned, public representatives and people from all walks of life.
He hoped that the technical knowledge imparted by Thakurgaon TTC would help increase industrial productivity, improve living standards and positively contribute to the national economy while reducing unemployment.Source: daily Sun
