Amir Hamza hopes Shafiqur Rahman to be PM in 9 days
Bangla Press Desk: Jamaat-e-Islami’s nominated candidate for the Kushtia-3 (Sadar) constituency Mufti Amir Hamza has expressed optimism that the party’s Ameer Dr Shafiqur Rahman will become the prime minister of Bangladesh within the next nine days.
He made the remarks on Tuesday (3 February) while addressing a women’s courtyard meeting as part of his election campaign in the Sadar constituency.
Amir Hamza alleged that false accusations had been spread against the Jamaat Ameer through the hacking of online accounts, with the intention of tarnishing women’s character. “There are nine days left. Insha’Allah, after these nine days, Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr Shafiqur Rahman will be the prime minister of Bangladesh,” he said, adding that history supported such outcomes.
Referring to past examples, he claimed that individuals whose accounts had been hacked and who faced false allegations later rose to power. He cited former US presidents Barack Obama and Joe Biden as examples, saying similar incidents occurred before their elections.
Amir Hamza said he believed Jamaat-e-Islami would assume state power and described Dr Shafiqur Rahman as a compassionate leader who made no distinction based on party affiliation, opinion, race or religion. He said such leadership would ensure peace for all.
He also highlighted plans to create income opportunities for women by enabling them to earn safely from home, including through training in handicrafts.
Calling for electoral support, Amir Hamza urged voters to back the party’s “scales” symbol and cast a “yes” vote to help build a peaceful Bangladesh. He also spoke about law and order, saying strong action would be taken against criminal activities in Kushtia if Jamaat-e-Islami came to power.Source :daily Sun
