Bangla Press Desk: A training fighter jet of the Bangladesh Air Force crashed in the Diabari area of Uttara in the capital around 1:18pm on Monday (21 July).
Immediately after the crash, personnel from a nearby Bangladesh Army camp rushed to the scene and began rescue operations. The rescue and emergency medical efforts were carried out in coordination with the Fire Service and other emergency response agencies.
However, despite repeated appeals, a large number of onlookers refused to vacate the crash site, severely hampering the rescue efforts. The inability to promptly move the injured increased the risk of fatalities. Both army personnel and volunteers from Milestone School repeatedly urged people to clear the area, but many remained at the scene.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that proper administrative action would be taken against any individuals found guilty during the investigation.
