Army warns public against false propaganda involving Chief of Army Staff
Bangla Press Desk: The Bangladesh Army has urged citizens to remain vigilant against the spread of false and baseless propaganda concerning Chief of Army Staff General Waker-uz-Zaman, particularly regarding election-related matters.
In a statement posted on its verified Facebook page on Friday (7 November), the Bangladesh Army stated that a number of fabricated claims linking the Army Chief to election management have recently been circulating on social media.
“It has been observed that various propaganda is being spread on social media involving the Chief of Army Staff regarding election management. The general public is kindly requested to stay alert and not be misled by such false and baseless information,” the post read.
The Facebook post also included screenshots of six examples of the fake propaganda being shared online.
The Army’s statement comes as part of its broader effort to counter misinformation and preserve public confidence in the integrity of national institutions.
